Goldsmiths at the EXCEL

On the 18th and 19th of March, ambassadors and staff traveled to the Excel Center in London to participate in UCAS London 2024.

Both days started early, as we had to arrive by 8:30 to set up our stand, grab a tea, and have a quick team meeting about the day's schedule. To reach the Excel from Goldsmiths, we took the Overground train to Whitechapel, followed by a quick and comfortable ride on the Elizabeth Line to Custom House. Upon stepping off the train, we were immediately at the Excel, ready to start working.

UCAS events in London are always bustling, with thousands of students, parents, and teachers coming to the center to ask questions to universities and institutions like the RAF.

Instead of detailing the events of each day, we have decided to address the most commonly asked questions at these events:

1. Where is Goldsmiths located in London?

Goldsmiths is situated in South-East London, in an area known as New Cross. It is close to places like Greenwich, where you can explore the market, enjoy traditional pie and mash, and visit the Cutty Sark.

2. Is Goldsmiths an art university?

Despite rumors, Goldsmiths is not exclusively an art university. We are recognized for our Fine Art and Design programs, but we also offer degrees in a variety of fields such as history, criminology, computer science, and theatrical studies.

3. Do you offer sports programs?

Unfortunately, we do not provide sports degrees. However, we have a range of sports societies that students can join, including activities like rock climbing, cheerleading, and MMA.

4. Do you support students with disabilities?

Yes, we have a dedicated disability support team available to listen and assist in any way necessary. Whether it's equipment needs, help with coursework, or exam assistance, we are here to support you.
